Hanging Metal Mobile at Till Inc.

I just completed my first hanging metal installation .

This project was an interested journey. I designed the initial sculpture to be hung vertically from the wall. However since we decided to make the art a permanent installation within the wave gallery we decided to hang it from the ceiling. Everything was built really tough, and stronger than everything had to be so this ended up not being a problem. I felt the piece had a great sense of balance in real life when you see it in person. It feels like it should fall down. However it is not that heavy and it is suspended with steel aircraft cables, and its frame is steel.

This cage was made from steel brake lines, and wired together. metal art installation | Roscoe Lamontagne   ready painted and primed ready for assembly

As you can see the cage is pretty bare. So I used aluminum flashing mini sculptures to fill in the cage. Each one is a unique piece of art on its own tied together with steel wire.  parts of the sculpture sculptures in boston roscoe studio sculpture art installation metal artist roscoe art installation metal artist roscoe art installation metal artist roscoe art installation metal artist roscoe art installation metal artist roscoe art installation metal artist roscoe art installation metal artist roscoe
